It depends! Each bridal gown is unique-it has different fabrics, embellishments and has different types and levels of stain or soil. Our Certified Wedding Gown Specialists will inspect your gown and offer a free, no obligation estimate for wedding dress cleaning, restoring &/or preserving your gown – once they see it. Please note: we cannot offer prices or ranges of prices over the phone, until we have seen your dress.
Absolutely! Anything to do with wedding dress cleaning, restoring, pressing or preserving is our specialty. We want you to look fabulous for your special day, and often that means cleaning and pressing your dress ahead of the wedding.
Nichole, who was married in Wisconsin in 2015, had reinvented the wedding dress her grandmother made for her mother’s wedding day and needed to have it cleaned before her own. Whether repurposing a family heirloom or simply wanting a perfectly pressed bridal gown, we’re happy to take care of your wedding dress cleaning before and after your big day.
Much like the beautiful bride in the dress, each wedding gown is unique. Before any wedding dress preservation, our wedding gown specialists will provide a free consultation and estimate for your special gown.
For wedding dress preservation we typically request between two and four weeks. But if you have a special request, just ask. Most likely, we can accommodate your wedding dress preservation needs.
Yes! You can see a photo gallery of some of our wedding dress cleaning and wedding dress preservation here.
Meantime, check out some of our stories, including those of Nichole and Kathryn. As you’ll see, each wedding dress story — like the brides themselves — is unique and deserving of the personal care and attention on which Treasured Garment Restoration prides itself.

We want your wedding dress to look as ravishing as you feel on your wedding day, which is why we go beyond basic services. If you’ve already had a wedding dress cleaning, we’d still be happy to press your gown for you.
Wedding dresses presented for hand-pressing/steaming service only (must be clean) and returned on a hanger in a protective bag.1
Because we’re a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, our MuseumCare™ Preservation Package is backed by members in more than 500 cities around the world. Having your wedding dress preservation and restoration done by a member of the AWGS means that your bridal gown will not yellow for a lifetime. You can bring your boxed gown to any participating Wedding Gown Specialist, who will inspect and press the gown at no charge.
During the wedding dress cleaning and restoration, we take every precaution to protect delicate beads, embroidery and lace. Bridal gown cleaning/restoring is about more than ensuring you’re left with a clean wedding gown; it’s designed to return a textile to its original color. In some cases, especially with material fibers like silk, the wedding dress color may only brighten a bit from its current state. Once complete, the bridal gown is hand pressed and returned on a hanger in a protective poly bag (unless the wedding dress preservation option is selected).
We will gladly give you a free wedding dress cleaning consultation and estimate for the care of any fabric, new or old. As we believe each wedding gown is unique, so too should be each consultation and estimate. Once your gown has been professionally cleaned, we encourage you to come in and inspect your wedding dress before we complete our MuseumCare™ Preservation process.
We hand-treat and clean each bridal gown individually — never in combination with other dresses. We take every precaution to protect delicate beads, embroidery and lace during the wedding dress cleaning process.
If you’re interested in a full wedding dress cleaning and preservation, our wedding gown specialists will provide a free consultation and estimate for the care of any fabric, new or vintage
Spills containing sugar, salt and acid (like lemonade, white wine, vodka and even cake frosting) often dry clear and cannot be seen. These unseen stains do not dissolve during ordinary dry cleaning and will turn an ugly shade of brown over time. Our unique anti-sugar stain treatment ensures that all sugar, salt and acid residue – seen or unseen – is removed during bridal gown cleaning.
We use acid-free tissue to protect your bridal gown and enclose it in a triple-layered, acid-free, archival quality wedding chest. As added protection, our boxes are enclosed in a 100% cotton muslin cover for wedding dress preservation. We have several sizes so we can fit your unique wedding dress appropriately. Additionally, we make available acid-free windows for viewing your treasured memories.
We know your special day might mean a destination wedding. That’s one of the reasons we felt it important to become a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists — so that you can access our tailored wedding dress preservation and cleaning techniques from points across the globe.
We guarantee that your bridal gown will not yellow, and that the “unseen” stains mentioned above will not show up for a lifetime. Members of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists are represented in more than 500 cities around the world. If your bridal gown is worn again, return it to any participating Wedding Gown Specialist, who will inspect and press the gown at no charge.
It is best to have your wedding dress cleaning and preservation done as soon as possible after the wedding. Over time, stains become more difficult to remove, so the sooner your bridal gown is cleaned and preserved, the better results you will have. Unprotected, your wedding dress will fade and yellow, or even deteriorate and become brittle in places. Consider asking a trusted friend or relative to bring your bridal gown in right after the wedding, and ensure you’ll have a clean wedding gown for a lifetime!
You may drop off your wedding dress at any of our St Croix Cleaners locations at any time. A Wedding Gown Specialist will inspect your gown and will contact you within 2 business days to give you an estimate of costs and expectations. If you would like to meet with a Wedding Gown Specialist in person, please call the appropriate store for an appointment to meet with you regarding a quote for bridal gown cleaning and/or preserving.
Please remove poly bag as soon as possible — garments stored in poly bags will start to oxidize (yellow) quickly. Poly bags are intended only for protection of garments in transit.
Thank you so much for doing such a spectacular job in cleaning my vintage 1945 wedding dress. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I can't wait to wear it for my wedding and then get it back to you for preservation. Thanks again for all of your help!
I am so happy with the work I had done on my wife's wedding gown. It looked like the day she wore it and I know she will be thrilled to see it all cleaned up again! Thank you to the entire staff for making this present possible and for doing a fantastic job!
I had my wedding gown cleaned and preserved with Treasured Garment Restoration and thought they did a great job. The dress came back in great shape, and I am very happy they guarantee their work. I hope one day my daughter will be able to wear at least a part of my gown. Thanks Treasured Garment!
